Job description
The inspector role is essential to our flowline by preventing defective or non-conforming material making it to our production floor. This prevents line shutdowns and costly in-process rework.
This position is 1st shift.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Verify product conformances based on visual inspection, dimensional measurement, and performance measurement.- Interaction with all inspection areas to identify and prevent recurrence of non-conforming material.
- Complete appropriate documentation for non-conforming material.
- Function within the guidelines of the latest issue of the Quality Management System Procedure Manual and Quality Work Instructions. Requirements include documentation and recommendation, verification of product conformance, evaluation of manufacturing processes and engineering design to identify root causes of the non-conformances.
PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications including GD&T.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Inspection capability - machining tolerances - Groove Gun, Over Wires- gears and splines, TIR, and Hardness Tester.
- CMM experience, including programming on multi-sensing CMMs (Vision, Laser, Touch Probe, etc.) is a plus
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Must be able to work with minimum level of supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to effectively communicate with internal and external suppliers.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Assembler and Welder experience required
- High School diploma or GED
- 6-months+ of experience required
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The physical requirements of the job include the ability to lift 50 pounds. Some exposure to dirt, oil, and other shop elements including noise. Work includes working inside and outside of production plant. Ability to access main deck and cab area on rig.
