HVAC Assistant Project Manager

$85,000 - $100,000

Premier HVAC/R and Energy Management company specializing in HVAC/R design, construction, equipment replacement, energy efficiency strategies, and solutions for New York and the Tri-State Area, is seeking an HVAC Assistant Project Manager to join our team and assist in the management of our HVAC projects.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC systems (including installation, maintenance, repair, and materials) as well as experience in HVAC project management. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of HVAC projects
• Ability to manage 1-3 projects simultaneously
• Ensure that project deadlines are met by monitoring project progress and making necessary adjustments
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Supervise the day-to-day operations of the HVAC department, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and up to code
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Assist in the preparation of project estimates, proposals, and budgets
• Attend project meetings and document minutes
• Assist in the management of change orders and project billing
• Assist in the management of project documentation, including contracts, submittals, and RFIs
• Conduct job site visits to ensure that work is being performed according to plans and specifications
• Oversee team of 10-20 workers
• Assist in the management of project close-out activities

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field is a plus
• 3-5 years of experience in HVAC installation
• 1-3 years of experience as an HVAC assistant project manager
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, equipment, and materials (copper & sheet metal)
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
• OSHA SST 62 (minimum SST 40)
• AutoCAD DWG
• Procore
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
