Job description

The GO Project is seeking exceptional K-8 teachers with at least two years of demonstrated success as a head teacher for our GO School elementary and middle school programs from January 2023 to May 2023. GO Head Teachers are master teachers with a proven ability to raise student achievement when students are struggling academically or socially.

Responsibilities:

  • Differentiate highly-engaging, appropriately challenging lessons in Reading, Writing and Math aligned to Common Core Standards and aligned to The GO Project mission and philosophy.
  • Effectively execute pre-planned lessons utilizing the support staff in the classroom to enable small group and one-on-one instruction.
  • Ensure consistent student data collection (formal and informal) and adjust instruction to strategically remediate for misconceptions and lagging understanding.
  • Use GO Project classroom structures, such as Morning Meeting and ASPIRE Values, to develop social emotional skills.
  • Mentor student teachers placed in your classroom.
  • Complete deliverables including but not limited to lesson plans, progress reports and feedback surveys.

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of demonstrated success as a K-8 teacher with remarkable student growth and/or achievement results preferably in a DOE or Charter School setting.
  • Experience leading reading, writing and math for K-5th grade candidates
  • Specialization in ELA or Math for 6-8th grade candidates
  • Fluency using google drive, google sheets, google forms, and google docs and demonstrated comfort learning new technology.
  • Dual-language speakers are a plus.

Program Dates and Training:

Staff Training Sessions: (tbd)

GO School runs on select Saturdays from 8:30 am - 1:00 pm. Students are on campus from 9:00 - 12:00 and the remaining time is used for planning.

Program Dates:

  • January 21st (Training)
  • January 28th
  • February 4th and 11th
  • March 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th
  • April 1st, 22nd, and 29th
  • May 6th

Compensation: GO School Head Teacher compensation is $32 - $33 per hour, depending on experience. Attendance is calculated excluding illnesses that are verified through a doctor’s note. Teachers who act as Mentor Teachers for student teachers are also eligible for tuition vouchers from partner colleges & universities.
