Job Responsibilities of a Group Creative Director:
Creative Process Leadership
- Collaborate with the Senior Creative Director, Senior Director of Client Engagement, and Director of Strategy to lead the package design creative process for CPG clients.
- Develop creative concepts, assess ideas, and link them to brand/design strategy, and present to the client.
- Utilize expertise in package design system thinking, understanding clients' brand-building process, and fine-tuning internal work processes for idea development and assessment.
Project Management and Collaboration
- Help the team connect the dots between various project elements, including client needs, brand/design positioning, and competitive analysis.
- Collaborate with creative, strategy and account teams to ensure all work is aligned with client objectives and meets client expectations.
- Build strong relationships with clients.
- Mentor and coach junior team members.
Creative Concept Development
- Develop and refine creative concepts and design solutions for various CPG brands, using your expertise and insights to deliver impactful results.
- Adopt a coach/player mentality, taking on both leadership and hands-on roles to guide and support the team towards success.
- Collaborate closely with team members to create compelling concepts, while also assessing and providing guidance to ensure quality and consistency in the work.
Education and Experience:
- Experience leading the package design creative process for CPG clients.
- Expertise in package design system thinking, understanding clients' brand-building process, and fine-tuning internal work processes for idea development and assessment.
- Demonstrated success building strong client relationships.
- Strong mentoring and coaching skills.
- Possess a "roll up your sleeves" attitude and willingness to jump in and design alongside the team as needed.
- Experience collaborating with creative, strategy, and account teams to deliver impactful results.
- A passion for staying up-to-date on package design trends and best practices.
- Bachelor's in design, marketing, or a related field.
- 12+ years of experience in strategy, package design, innovation and brand building with a focus on a wide array of CPG clients.
