Job Summary/Basic Functions
The Department of Physics, Geosciences & Astronomy in conjunction with the Archaeology Program at Eastern Kentucky University invites applicants for two undergraduate researchers with interest and experience in geoarchaeology. The successful candidates will assist Drs. Cabaniss and Endonino with geophysical surveys and geospatial analyses at White Hall State Historic Site in Richmond, KY. They will be responsible for assisting with mapping and survey work using terrestrial Lidar, ground penetrating radar, and electrical resistivity tomography. The successful candidates will use this data to help identify subsurface structures of interest to enhance the research mission of the Applied Geophysics Working Group at Eastern Kentucky University.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled at EKU
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience performing ground penetrating radar (GPR) surveys to identify archaeological
features of significance.
- Experience performing electrical resistivity tomography surveys.
- Experience using ArcGIS to support geoarchaeological surveys.
- Knowledge of the history and cultural significance of White Hall State Historic Site
