Job Summary:

The restaurant front of house manager is responsible for ensuring a positive guest experience and smooth operation of the front of house. This includes overseeing the host/hostess, serving, and bar staff, managing reservations and seating arrangements, and maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the dining room. The front of house manager is also responsible for ensuring that all staff are trained in customer service and sales techniques, maintaining inventory of front of house supplies, and managing budgets and payroll.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and train front of house staff, including host/hostess, serving, and bar staff.
  • Manage guest reservations and seating arrangements to ensure a smooth flow of service.
  • Ensure all guests receive attentive, prompt, and friendly service.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the dining room, including tables, chairs, and restrooms.
  • Monitor inventory levels of front of house supplies, such as glassware, silverware, and linens, and order as needed.
  • Manage budgets and payroll for front of house staff.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Create and implement strategies to increase sales and improve the guest experience.
  • Resolve guest complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff to ensure efficient service and communication.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in hospitality or business management preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience in a restaurant front of house management role.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and sales skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Knowledge of restaurant POS systems and other technology.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
