Financial Controller
Job description
Summary
The Controller is responsible for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial information that will assist management, and owner in making educated economic decisions about the strategic financial direction of the company. Ensures legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions and will have significant hands-on responsibilities that require solid accounting and reporting knowledge and abilities that include meeting frequent deadlines.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Bachelors’ in finance or accounting required, Master’s Degree preferred.
Experience: 10 plus years relevant experience. CPA preferred. Experience with forecasting and budgeting software a plus.
Duties:
- Conduct weekly payroll audits
- Communicate with all levels of management to provide answers to questions regarding accounting information, analysis, reports or procedures. Provide management with any additional or special requests for financial or statistical information.
- Provide leadership to the accounting staff and display open communication skills with all areas of company personnel.
- Develop and maintain strong business relationships with business partners outside of the company.
- Develop forms and procedures to control and monitor budget data for accuracy and consistency.
- Manage the timely and accurate preparation of all financial statements and other statistical information for distribution to management and owner.
- Responsible for formulating, implementing and directing plans, policies and activities maintaining the company's fiscal integrity.
- Facilitate the annual budgeting process and monthly budget reviews. Manage the preparation of financial forecasts, and cost containment; as well the company's expense management strategy.
- Select and guide the training and development of highly qualified accounting professionals.
- Serves as a key business and accounting advisor to the CEO.
- Conducts weekly and monthly payroll audits
- Administers design the implementation of financial information systems; seek ways to improve financial reporting and controls.
- Provides information support for the preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Prepares quarterly accounting, reporting, and controls report.
- Provide strong oversight of financial controls, measurements, and systems for better accounting practices
- The ability to adapt to change, to develop new ideas and approaches appropriately.
- Organizes and maintains a work schedule that supports the goals of the company
- Requires minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates a high degree of motivation for the work and produces a high volume of work.
- Involvement in the financial leadership of the company through training managers to understand profitability within their department.
- Direct financial decisions that impact sales, marketing and operational activities to ensure maximization of the bottom line. This involves presenting accurate and timely information in a manner conducive to decision making on all financial issues, along with ensuring tight spending controls are in place.
Technical
- Develop and maintain accounting, reporting and internal control policies and procedures in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles and the needs of firm management.
- Monitor and strengthen the company's internal control procedures to ensure integrity of financial data and adherence of corporate policies.
- Review and manage the monthly reconciliation of key accounts.
- Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly cash flow statements to ensure best practices in cash management.
- Implements Strategic Business Plan actions for accounting and business control.
- Coordination and review of yearend audit information.

Pay: $26.00 - $36.00 per hour
