Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst is part of the Finance team and will report to the Controller. The Financial Analyst will support monthly reporting, KPI tracking and developing the annual budget and business plans that will be provided to the Pavlov executive management team. In addition, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for developing and maintaining the financial models and dashboards to track performance and produce analysis that will feed into the Company’s commercial strategy and assessment of expansion opportunities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Creates financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision making
- Generate management reporting and financial packages on monthly, quarterly and on an ad hoc basis.
- Analyze historical results against budgets and forecasts, and performing variance analysis
- Works closely with the accounting team and other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and thorough budgeting processes
- Tracks key performance indicators and objectives
- Assists with real-time financial performance monitoring, including the development of automated reporting and forecasting tools for more efficient use of data
- Analyzes industry trends and makes recommendations based on these trends
- Evaluates capital expenditures and depreciation
- Partner with key stakeholders and business leaders to provide strategic financial insights.
- Assist with real-time financial performance monitoring, including the implementation of new systems and processes
- Assist with the budging and forecasting processes, including collaborating with different businesses and departments to prepare and refine projections
- Tracks key performance indicators and objectives (KPI’s)
- Creates variance analysis reports and financial models and utilizes financial planning and analysis software
- Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- Master’s degree preferred, not required
- Excellent analytical, financial modelling and quantitative skills
- Ability to learn new processes and businesses quickly, with strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
- Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis
- Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Office including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to build relationships across the organization
- Two years of professional experience as an accountant, auditor or financial analyst OR valid CPA (Certified Public Accountant) certificate with at least one year of professional experience as an accountant, auditor, or financial analyst
- Must be able to sit or stand in front of a computer for prolonged periods.

- Acts with integrity, including handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Demonstrates strong mathematical skills.
