Overview:
Develops, implements, and coordinates student financial aid programs/functions for the College district.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversees and directs all financial aid programs College District wide.
2. Develops and implements new procedures to improve financial aid service delivery.
3. Oversees cancellation procedures for undisbursed aid.
4. Allocates financial aid funds.
5. Ensures that accurate records of Title IV loans, grants, State of Florida grants, Institutional scholarships and Work study funds are maintained for the College District.
6. Oversees determination of financial aid awards and approves all student notifications regarding financial aid.
7. Oversees financial aid recipients’ academic records at the close of each term to determine satisfactory progress.
8. Prepares financial aid information for distribution to College campuses.
9. Prepares outgoing reports for the District on Financial Aid
10. Serves as custodian of all financial aid records.
11. Serves on the President’s Administrative Leadership Team, Council on Administration and Finance and other committees as assigned.
12. Reviews changes in financial aid regulations and recommends appropriate internal procedures to ensure compliance.
13. Maintains a current financial aid library and internal financial aid procedures manuals.
14. Assist in implementing the College Equity Plan in accordance with its provisions.
15. Coordinates with Financial Services Office to account for and balance/reconcile all federal, state and institutional aid.
16. Coordinates financial aid workshops on an ongoing and as-needed basis throughout the College District.
17. Assists with developing and implementing the appropriate portion of the College’s Long-Range Plan.
18. Serves as the chief resource person when working with the Student Information System dealing with financial aid issues.
19. Assures compliance with any required federal electronic reporting requirements.
20. Responsible for the Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP), certification of Department of Education Participation Agreement for new programs and deleting programs no longer offered.
21. Participates and prepares for annual financial aid audits.
22. Oversees the attendance verification process for Title IV Clock Hour programs to be in compliance with federal financial aid regulations.
23. Performs other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five year’s experience and a Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution or
  • Seven year’s experience and a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: · Must have experience with State and Federal reporting · Must be an effective communicator · Knowledge of personal computer, mainframe applications and ERP systems Supervisory Responsibilities: · Director of Financial Aid (2 positions) · Coordinator of State & Institutional Scholarships · Coordinator of Loans & Default Management Anticipated Start Date: Open until filled Preferred Qualifications: · Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
