The Business Segment Sustainable Energy Systems (SE TI SES) develops, manufactures, and sells innovative Hydrogen and Power-to-X systems, solutions and services based on the SES portfolio. With this innovative electrochemical system, water is split into its components hydrogen and oxygen using the PEM (Proton Exchange Membrane) and (green) electricity. By helping our customers in the industrial, energy and mobility sectors to decarbonize their processes we are taking a further step towards a sustainable future.

The Electrical Engineer Secondary Systems ensures compliance with agreed specifications in bids, project execution according to schedule for assigned electrical scope of supply and services, and related tasks of a customer contract. The role includes the planning of control cabinets and switchgear with associated sensors and actuators according to valid standards and project-specific customer requirements, incl. documentation. The responsibilities include a proactive coordination of technical collaboration with related internal as well as external parties.
How You’ll Make an Impact
The specific responsibilities assigned to the position (but not limited to) are:
- Support of proposal preparations to develop competitive and high-quality customer focused bids for hydrogen generation plants
- Design of switchgear cabinets and specification of electrical components for I&C and secondary systems
- Ensure QEHS within assigned electrical scope and tasks
- Witnessing factory acceptance tests of the designed electrical equipment
- Site support for building and commissioning
- Ensuring the core values of safety and integrity, which means taking ownership for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.
What You Bring
- Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical degree. Alternatively, you have completed advanced training as a technician.
- 5+ years experience in engineering or other technical functions and ability to deal with the interface requirements of partners. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
- Experience in plant engineering or special machine construction preferred
- Competence in high current rectifier, switchgear, transformer, and other electrical equipment according to applicable standards is a plus
- Knowledge in the field of design tools EPLAN and COMOS
- German fluency preferred, written and spoken
- Great passion for the area of energy transition and decarbonization
- High degree of flexibility and agility, with a self-directed work style characterized by initiative
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers
