POSITION: Director of Logistics
FTE/FLSA: 1 FTE (40 hours/week) / Exempt SCHEDULE: M-F; Day Hours
SALARY: Grade: 110 ($71,106.20 - $88,882.75) REPORTS TO: Chief Financial & Administrative Officer
LOCATION: 3003 S. Country Club Road
Function: Oversees and develops all logistics-related procedures and activities (transportation, food sourcing, and mobile food distribution) to end hunger and poverty through oversight of strategic decision making around getting healthy and fairly sourced food to communities in southern Arizona.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for coordinating and supporting supply-chain logistics and strategic cooperation between all CFB work units to ensure the accurate, timely, and efficient sourcing and movement of products and materials throughout the CFB supply chain.
- Partner with warehouse team and resource centers to effectively and efficiently move food to communities within our service area.
- Document planning and project management practices to ensure transparency, replicability, and improvement.
- Provide management oversight and coaching to the CFB transportation, mobile food distribution, and food sourcing teams.
- Responsible for budget and fiscal stewardship of logistics activities.
- Works cross-functionally across CFB departments to optimize service levels, improve supply chain efficiency, and minimize costs.
- Oversees food sourcing activities within our service area.
- Participate and support the organization’s strategic and operational planning processes, with a focus on equitable food movement.
- Responsible for ensuring DOT fleet and driver compliance, including recordkeeping requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring that drivers follow best practices of CFB warehouse and vehicle operations, including food safety.
- Oversight responsibility for CFB fleet management, including the CFB passenger fleet.
- Responsible for transportation capacity audits and maintaining accurate fleet analytics to ensure optimized routing and fleet efficiency.
- Oversees logistics of the Willcox Distribution Center staff, including drivers, warehouse, and rural distribution program, including the network of more than 20 distribution sites in Graham, Greenlee, and Cochise Counties.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in supply chain management, transportation, business administration or similar field, or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in industry-related field.
- Experience with and applied skills to develop and manage an annual operating budget.
- A good driving record, current, and valid drivers license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiar with fleet management software systems that track drivers schedules, safe driving and asset maintenance.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate staff.
- Ability to make complex decisions, allocate resources, and prioritize operational objectives.
- Ability to show initiative and flexibility in day-to-day operations when needed.
- Advanced Interpersonal skills.
- Coordination of day-to-day transportation operations and directing significant projects.
- Supervision of drivers, delegating tasks accordingly, monitoring performance, and conducting regular follow-ups with business objectives.
- Prior experience using advanced organizational skills and multi-tasking skills.
- Prior experience effectively and collaboratively leading individuals of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and personalities.
- Experience establishing compliance of all programs with state and federal regulations, including those imposed by the Department of Transportation (DOT), safety compliance and prompt resolution of customer complaints.
Physical Requirements:
- Light Work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
