Child Care Director:

The Director works to create a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for children in the childcare and preschool settings. This position leads the 3YO preschool childcare room during the school day and manages all areas of child care at St. Pius X. The Director oversees staff including an assistant director, site supervisor, part time adult and high school aged staff. The Director works in close collaboration with school administration to effectively run the childcare program.

Job Duties:

● Manage all program licensing requirements for Pius Pals
● Hire, train, onboard, support and supervise staff members
● Develop and implement policies and procedures for the operation of Pius Pals in accordance with school and Diocesan policy
● Manage and coordinate daily activities with assistant director and other staff members
● Observe, guide, supervise, and assess children while they learn in the classroom environment
● Develop lesson plans and units of interest for a variety of age groups in diverse settings
● Create and maintain safe, clean, stimulating classrooms where all children feel safe and valued
● Build relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and community members based on trust
● Set an excellent example for students instilling honesty, understanding, respect, love, and kindness
● Communicate progress results and parent / teacher conferences and as needed throughout the year

Employment Requirements
● Early Childhood Education experience preferred, Bachelors Degree preferred in area of education, social work, or related field

● Practicing Catholic preferred but not required
● Certifications (VIRTUS, First Aid, CPR, etc.) and other AEA trainings or willing to obtain
● Strong social, communication, and interpersonal skills
● Physical abilities

• Lead activities and sports
• May require lifting up to (but not limited to) 15 lbs
• Cleaning, which may require bending over or pushing objects

● Experience working in childcare or school setting preferred

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
