Mountain Lake Lodge is a beautiful resort hotel located in Pembroke, VA. Surrounded by 2,600 miles of nature preserve, Mountain Lake provides guests with breathtaking scenic views and a place to relax and unplug. We host a variety of events such as weddings, parties, and corporate retreats. We are currently seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Director, who will be responsible for providing leadership and management in all areas of food and beverage, dining outlets, and staff. The Director is responsible for meeting the objectives and standards set forth by the Resort. This position is scheduled to start on January 15, 2023.
Reports to: VP of Food & Beverage
Responsibilities
- Controls budgeted revenues, expenses, and improved profitability.
- Increases level of guest happiness by delivering exceptional customer service.
- Directs staff, achieves departmental goals, and provides oversight of F&B departments.
- Leads Front of House training and development.
- Ensures all health and safety requirements are followed.
- Proactively anticipates guests concerns.
- Responds and resolves guest complaints and questions.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a Food & Beverage Director. Hotel experience preferred.
- Must have experience in a high-volume breakfast, lunch, and dinner restaurant with experienced bar/beverage knowledge.
- Degree in Hospitality Management, helpful but not required.
- Organizational skills to function effectively with attention to detail while meeting established deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills. Experience with Excel, Outlook, Open Table, and Micros preferred.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
