Essential functions of this job include, but are not limited to:
- Serves as an available resource to caseworkers and other staff who may be seeking either consultation and/or intervention for a client perceived to be in crisis.
- Provides face-to-face counseling interventions for crisis stabilization.
- Provides client evaluations and makes recommendations for appropriate services.
- Communicates recommendations to appropriate staff.
- Assists with referrals to outside agencies, (e.g., mental health services).
- Initiates, monitors, and concludes At Risk Observation forms and procedures according to Agency policy.
- Keeps appropriate, accurate, organized, and legible documentation. Adheres to documentation deadlines as outlined in the Treatment Training Manual. Utilizes Electronic Health Records to schedule, conduct and document client interactions
- Ensures the confidentiality of client records in accordance with existing laws, regulations and Agency policies and procedures.
- Provides 24-hour on-call support and referral linkage in the community in cases of sexual abuse as a first responder in accordance with PREA.
- Recognizes and effectively addresses clients’ anti-social behaviors in a group setting (e.g., sleeping, passing contraband, being disrespectful to another client, etc.).
