Currently, the Company has a significant opportunity to develop and strengthen its Team through the addition of a successful Corporate Recruitment Manager role to help guide the business in its next phases of value creation efforts for the Millwood Team, Clients and stakeholders.

The position is located at the Company’s headquarters in Vienna, Ohio.

Reporting Relationships

The Corporate Recruitment Manager will report directly to the Strategic Business Unit (SBU) President and HR Director working closely with the SBU General Managers, Leadership Team and SBU and Plant Level Operations Teams to ensure the proper talent acquisition, employee retention and human resources programs and infrastructure are in place to support the Company and SBU and its objectives, mission and values.

This includes ensuring the Company and its Strategic Business Units are attracting talented Team members, staffing SBU operations proactively and timely and providing an employee oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes customer service, safety, quality, productivity, standards and goal attainment. This role will also work with those at the Corporate Human Resources level to insure consistency and alignment with overall Company processes and policies and alignment of same at the SBU level.

The Successful Candidate

The right candidate will need to be a good and genuine person with high integrity and excellent business, interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills who understands the responsibilities to the families of Millwood. They must also respect what has been accomplished at the Company and can learn and add their own value and knowledge to further develop people strategies to recruit, train, develop and retain World Class Associates for the Strategic Business Unit and assist in its growth plan and in achieving profitability goals and value creation efforts.

The ability to attract, develop and train high performance Team members and work extremely well with others and inspire trust will be critical to the success of this role.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • The Recruitment Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the human resources function at the Corporate level to ensure the proper recruitment, training, development and retention of a World Class Team and infrastructure to support the Company, the SBU and its value creation objectives, mission and values.
  • Working with SBU President, Sales Manager, General Managers, Plant Managers to plan and execute recruiting and talent acquisition efforts across the SBU as needed. Collaborate with departmental managers and location leaders to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • This includes but is not limited to recruiting, onboarding, administration, positive employee relations, training, employee retention programs, benefits development and administration, compliance administration and performance management.
  • Represent and market Millwood across all talent acquisition channels including traditional recruiting channels, social media, local workforce employment resources, local and regional sourcing channels and state and local workforce development resources.
  • Recruit, interview, screen and conduct background checks and employee eligibility verifications on potential candidates. Provide feedback to managers regarding potential candidates.
  • Develop onboarding and training plans for new hires that are job specific and are coordinated with overall corporate training plans and initiatives.
  • Review, track, document and maintain training records and compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include compliance matters, safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
  • Support and execute the administration of all human resource policies, procedures and programs at the SBU level including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance and talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, compliance, occupational health and safety and training and development.
  • Support a safe and compliant work environment for all Associates.
  • Implement and annually update SBU level compensation program, rewrite job descriptions as necessary, monitor performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Develop, recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures, prepare and maintain handbook on policies and procedures in conjunction with overall corporate human resources policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate SBU level performance appraisal process. Provide managers with training and the tools to complete.
  • Train managers on appraisal process and disciplinary process and maintain disciplinary records.
  • Coordinate all SBU level health insurance and benefit programs in conjunction with overall corporate benefit programs.
  • Understand and maintain compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices and review policies and practices to mitigate risk regarding same.
  • Maintain SBU level records for workers compensation and OSHA.
  • Understand payroll and related systems and regulations.
  • Handle SBU level employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
  • Attend and participate in SBU level employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Maintain availability for meeting with SBU employees regarding counseling, pay and benefit issues.
  • Coordinate wellness program and employee retention program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required.
  • Five or more years of experience in human resources with demonstrated competence in recruiting and fulfilling open roles for previous companies.
  • SHRM – CP certification and membership or PHR certification is a plus.
  • In depth knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
