Job description

Our company is looking for a Corporate Controller to oversee all accounting, payroll and tracking functions for the business. We're seeking responsible, detail-oriented professionals with the ability to effectively communicate with others in order to achieve our company's financial goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide direction and manage accounting staff
  • Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll department/staff.
  • Manage job cost transactions
  • Budget review to ensure with bringing all jobs on budget.
  • Assist Operations, Estimating and Management with all Job Costing/WIP analysis.
  • Compliance with lien law.
  • Company licensing
  • Act as a liaison to external auditors for accounting and workers comp audits.
  • Weekly job meetings with PM's
  • Review and complete cash position, collections and forecast.
  • Review open invoice report with invoices to be paid Biweekly.
  • Monitor work in progress for accuracy.
  • Manage Acc. Staff Job Cost Accounting & completed job closing process.
  • Review/approve month end close
  • Manage AP in addressing vendor issues, review of monthly statements, general ledger coding and data entry issues.
  • Review the accuracy of the monthly backlog
  • Perform monthly job cost allocations as needed.
  • Review/Approve the entry accuracy of all Contracts and Budgets into Accounting.
  • Review/Approve the accuracy of all Contract Change Orders and Budget. Ensure all change orders entered are reasonable.
  • Complete credit review for all new customers.
  • Coordinate creating of new projects from PM's (Job handoff)

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA or BS in finance or accounting required.
  • CPA, MBA or other advanced degree a plus; 5+ years
  • Controller experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry
  • Experience working with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, etc).
  • Must possess communication skills. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to Owners, Auditors, Bankers, Customers, Insurers, or others.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $120,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
