The Role

Atlas Copco Comptec LLC, located in Voorheesville, NY, is seeking a Core Production Supervisor. The primary objectives of this position include:

To develop and lead a self-directed team of factory, planning, and manufacturing engineering professionals who are responsible for the manufacturing and assembly of core compressor units of the highest quality while meeting budget and schedule requirements.

Duties Include but are not limited to:

• Staffing, training, and motivating the Core Production Team – Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, and Assembly Groups
• Ensure employee safety throughout the production environment through active training, enforcement and supporting company safety initiatives.
• Directing the team in accomplishing the following:
  • Establishing a plan to meet production schedules and on-time delivery goals.
  • Completion of work scope within the given production budget
  • Balance applied project hours versus overhead hour spend (dept cost variance)
  • Creating and implementing effective machining and assembly processes, procedures and equipment/tooling that result in efficient and cost-effective continuous flow manufacturing of maximum quality.
  • Maintaining an accurate production planning system.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date manufacturing records for all projects
• Utilizing LEAN manufacturing principles throughout the production environment, seeking to improve internal processes, and collaborating with others to achieve cost and efficiency improvements.
• Maximize employee utilization through agile activities, including proactive work assignment and cross-training efforts.
• Monitor with Master Scheduling shop loading for both in-house and forecasted work to provide company clear picture of overall Core Production capacity
• Knowledge and compliance with Safety Rules, Regulations and OSHA Requirements.

What we expect of you?

• Willing and able to learn new technical and managerial skills.
• Experienced Manufacturing Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience is preferred in a manufacturing environment
• Must be safety and environmentally focused
