Bring your culinary expertise to a welcoming community where you can take your talent to the next level! Trail Ridge Senior Living Community is seeking a part-time cook to join our culinary team.

We offer restaurant quality meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner in a private dining atmosphere. Our menu is frequently updated and includes a variety of cooking styles. We also encourage our staff to bring forward new recipes and ideas to try out, particularly when we have upcoming special events.

An example of a typical evening menu selection includes:

• Korean-style grilled pork tenderloin
• Pan-seared, herb-crusted wall-eye with béarnaise sauce
• Char-grilled teres major steak with mushroom demi-glace

This is a part-time (8-12 hrs/week) position that helps to cover one to two shifts a week as needed. Weekday shifts are 1030am-7pm, weekend shifts are 6am-230pm. No late nights!

Duties include, but are not limited to:

1) operating grills, stoves, ovens, fryers, steam tables, and other kitchen appliances to prepare food for residents; 2) assembling and mixing ingredients according to recipes and production sheets, to prepare meats, soups, casseroles, vegetables, starches, sauces, gravies, salads, desserts, and special diets; 3) performing preparatory work such as restocking food containers, peeling vegetables or thawing frozen food; 4) placing food in serving containers and loading it onto carts and transferring the food from the kitchen to the dining areas; and 5) cleaning work area, equipment, and assigned areas of responsibility to ensure proper sanitation of all food preparation and storage areas.

What You Will Need:

• knowledge of food recipes and how to interpret them
• methods of food preparation, including but not limited to prep/production lists
• food safety, sanitation and ServSafe Food Handler practices (preferred but not required)
• COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption request is required
