Mayflower’s R&D focus includes GPS/INS systems, adaptive space-time antenna control techniques, data link receivers, attitude determination and control systems, and wireless communication systems. As this position may require the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance, US Citizenship is mandatory.

    We are actively searching for an experienced Controller / CPA / Senior Finance Professional to join our team. This key individual will be responsible for the overall management of all functions relating to accounting and finance. Position reports to senior management.

    Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

    • Oversees the day-to-day accounting functions, including management of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll processing, fixed assets, and cash management
    • Accuracy and integrity of the ledgers
    • Month-end and year-end close processes
    • Key point of contact for external auditors responsible for the supervision and preparation of year-end audit engagement and preparation of formal quarterly financial statements
    • Ensuring compliance with all state and federal income and payroll tax filings and reporting requirements
    • Managing the company’s 401(k) plan
    • Purchase order approvals
    • Preparation of annual incurred cost submission budgets approved by the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and periodic DCAA audits
    • Financial review of contracts and subcontracts
    • Preparation of cost estimates for proposals

    Minimum Requirements:

    • 10+ years of experience in a similar role in a small business.
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in either Accounting, Taxation, Business Administration or Finance
    • CPA strongly preferred
    • Cost accounting experience
    • Taxation experience
    • Experience working with DoD / Government contracts preferred
    • Manufacturing experience preferred but not required
    • Strong computer software skills (MS Office Suite)
    • Experience using financial systems
    • Deltek experience a plus
    • Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) a plus
