DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Position supervises and schedules work assignments to subordinate positions assigned within the organizational structure. This position requires familiarity with the terminology of the office unit. This position uses some subject-matter knowledge and judgment to complete assignments consisting of numerous steps varying in nature and sequence. Selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals, or procedures. Assists in a variety of administrative matters; maintaining a wide variety of financial or other records (stored both manually and electronically); verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; compiling information; and handling and adjusting complaints.

The Lead Data Controller supervises the data controllers as they follow the Soldiers in a field environment across unimproved terrain and observe the Soldiers activities. The Lead Data Controller will account for all data from the data collectors and conduct quality control checks of the Human Systems Integration, Performance, and Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability data. Lead Data Controller will:

  • Provide input to data collection plans, data collection forms, and form instructions
  • Prepares data collector handbooks and smart books
  • Prepares training lesson plans, slides, and practical exercises for Performance, Human System Integration, and RAM
  • Performs QC on collected data and information
  • Accounts for all data collected from the field site
  • Develops procedures to collect data during operational test events
  • Prepares daily safety briefing and briefs data collectors
  • Conduct data anomaly investigations and provide requests for information
  • Compile and deliver accurate, detailed, legible, and timely data collection forms
  • Conducts training for all data collectors
  • May walk across unimproved terrain in a field environment setting while carrying a laptop, GPS, field gear, and other items for data collection
  • Will use a GPS to determine field site grid coordinates
  • Will drive to and from the test site from a field assembly area over a 10-13 hour workday.
  • Responsible for preparing daily status reports and providing to test team
  • Develops control, safety, test event and test status procedures and training
  • Ensures tracking of all assigned data controllers for adequate coverage to test
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

Three years experience in operational testing or other similar administrative occupation. Prior data collection and military experience is required with understanding of military terminology, field operations, and military tactical experience. MUST be able to be in the field during severe inclement weather to collect data.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma

SECURITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • US Citizenship is required
  • Must be eligible to obtain base access for assigned locations
  • Must possess an active security clearance/LAN account
  • Valid State driver's license and car insurance for access to military installations and travel
  • Eligible for and be able to obtain a U.S. Government motor vehicle operator's permit for assigned

PAY: $21.75. This is a Service Contract Act position, subject to all conditions of the Service Contact Act.
