Job description
We’re looking for an entry-level Computer Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be developing firmware for embedded systems alongside a multi-disciplinary group of engineers helping to transform ideas into prototypes and prototypes into finished products for the medical device and defense industries. As an small engineering services firm, we work on a lot of different projects, and you'll get to see all aspects of the product development process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for integration and control of electrical components into devices. They will also help design and manufacture electrical products of all shapes and sizes. They should be able to make quality assurance checks in order to keep the product standard high.
Duties:
- Microcontroller selection & firmware programming
- Power optimization for battery devices
- Wireless communication
- Analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout
- Creatively apply high-level engineering principles to problems
- Design and build prototypes to test performance
- Perform detailed calculations and analyses
- Create documentation of design, technical analyses, and test results
- Develop electro-mechanical devices, integrating off-the-shelf and custom parts
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, project managers, and clients
Qualifications
- High level of proficiency with technical engineering concepts and problem solving
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Enjoy voiding warranties
- BS or MS Electrical / Computer Engineering
- 0 - 4 years experience
- US Citizenship required (NISPOM)
