Summary:

This position is responsible for providing treatment to patients of the Personalized Lifestyle Medicine Center by Metagenics(PLMC). We're looking for a licensed Chiropractor with strong interpersonal and communication skills.


To be considered, you must have a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) degree, possess a current and valid license to practice in the State of California, be passionate about patient care, have exceptional palpation skills with above-average hand/grip strength and have a genuine affinity for soft tissue work (experience in ART, MFR, COX or similar techniques is preferred). 2+ years of experience as a full-time Chiropractor is preferred but not required.


As the Chiropractor (DC) you will be responsible for providing excellent patient care, various day to day operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a Chiropractor (DC) who wants to be heavily involved and not deal with the headaches of owning the practice.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform intake assessments by listening to patients' concerns and reviewing medical records
  • Physically examine patients by testing their reflexes and posture
  • Record patient data and keep detailed records of every treatment session
  • Use chiropractic techniques to diagnose neuro-musculoskeletal conditions
  • Perform skeletal adjustments to relieve pain within a patient's body
  • Assess a patient’s medical condition by reviewing his or her medical history, listening to the patients concerns, and performing a physical examination;
  • Analyze the patients posture and spine;
  • Provide musculoskeletal therapy, which involves adjusting a patients spinal column and other joints by hand
  • Conduct additional diagnostic tests, including evaluating a patients posture and/or taking x rays and performing a preliminary reading of the films;
  • Provide additional treatments, such as applying heat or cryotherapy to a patients injured areas;
  • Advise patients on health and lifestyle issues, such as exercise and sleep habits;
  • Refer patients to other medical specialists, if needed


Education:

  • 4 year bachelor degree from accredited college
  • A doctor of chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic college
  • Passing scores for Parts I,II,III and IV from NCBE
  • A recent NBCE SPEC exam is acceptable alternative for Part IV
  • Valid DC license inState of California
  • Fully eligible for Malpractice Insurance in State of California Knowledge


Knowledgable:

  • Experience with medical records and medical terminology
  • General computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet and Word Processing software
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations preferred
  • Electronic Medical Record experience preferred


Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to perform spinal adjustments
  • Ability to diagnose and develop a care plan based on a patient’s individual needs
  • COX Technique experience and/or certification (preferred, not required)
  • Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette
  • Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
  • Strong organization skills
  • Ability to independently, collect data, establish facts, prioritize, and draw valid conclusions to accomplish goals
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide variety of personality types
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and problem solving skills
  • Flexibility and a willingness to learn new things
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to manage details and provide appropriate follow-up to ensure full internal and external department satisfaction
  • Able to work in a changing environment without experiencing undue stress
  • Recognize and maintain confidential information


Other:

  • Travel between clinic sites may be Primary travel to Washington.. Travel to other locations may be required
  • Meets all applicable safety requirements for the position and work environment
  • Completes other duties as assigned


Physical requirements/working conditions:

  • Sits at a computer station, meeting table or work desk for more than two-thirds of each day
  • Stands and walks to other stations and departments throughout the day
  • Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment most of the day
  • May stoop or crouch to access files or storage
  • Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses
  • Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and especially via the telephone
  • Lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; lifts 25 pounds occasionally
  • Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments
