ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS of DAY/EVENING SHIFTS OF DIRECT CARE STAFF

- Effectively carry out the assisted living service agreement that is designed to meet the individual needs of the Resident.
- Be knowledgeable of basic services that are provided within the assisted living licensure.
- Get to know each Resident as a person so that daily routines and activities are tailored to meet their individual needs and choices.
- Demonstrate a consistently positive, respectful and professional attitude with staff, Residents, Residents’ family and community members.
- Look for ways to grow and expand your knowledge so that you can continually improve your personal and professional performance.
- Take responsibility for quickly resolving issues or conflicts with other team members.
- Maintain confidentiality concerning the Resident’s lives and display respect for the Residents and their property.
- Maintain professional and personal standards that will continue to create the facility’s reputation for excellence.
- Display professionalism in dress, conversation and body language.
- Conduct yourself in such a way that you would always be proud of what you have done and said.

SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Check in with clinic to review stand-up notes
- Report to your assigned section and review notes from previous shift.
- Assist with distributing medication and activities of daily living for the residents to which you are assigned.
- Assist Residents with: scheduled dressing, grooming, escorting, bathing, and other activities of daily living per Resident Service Agreement.
- Assist Resident with scheduled personal laundry, light cleaning, etc.
- Assist with breakfast, noon and evening Meal Checks to account for all Residents, deliver trays and report to the nurse on duty any concerns about those that are ill.
- Build relationships with residents
- Assist nurse on duty, as directed: vital signs, emergency response, blood pressures, weights, medication deliveries to apartment, etc.
- Cue and support residents in your section that are cognitively impaired
- Respond to emergency calls
- Complete all documentation, charting, billing, record-keeping, daily.
- Assist with Meal Check.
- Attend daily stand-up meeting with Director and nurses
- Attend monthly In-service education classes
