The Bike Mechanic is a key member of the Activities team. Working closely with Activities leadership, this associate contributes to Nemacolin's success by servicing and repairing our standard and electric bike fleet, to Nemacolin and manufacturer standards. This associate will deliver exceptional service to both internal and external guests, in the bike shop and around property at our various outlets. This associate will execute shop services, meeting or exceeding expectations for quality and safety standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Examines bicycle and identifies parts that may need to be repaired, replaced, or otherwise modified.
• Installs, repairs, and replaces various equipment, including handlebars, stands, lights, seats, chains, electrical equipment.
• Adjusts bicycle components according to Nemacolin and manufacturers' specifications.
• Installs and adjusts speed and gear mechanisms.
• Aligns wheels of a bicycle.
• Inspects tire tubes and uses scrapers and patches to repair them.
• Installs new vehicle parts or accessories as directed.
• Disassembles axles when required to repair, modify, or replace faulty parts.
• Applies paint to bicycle frames with spray guns or brushes.
• Works in conjunction with E-bike vendor.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of experience in a guest or customer-facing role is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Understanding basic mechanical principles, practices, and procedures related to the bicycle.
• Bicycle mechanic experience preferred
• Ability to listen, read, or follow directions.
• Detail-oriented and precise.
• Ability to use basic tools.
• Excellent problem-solving and guest service skills.

These skills and abilities are typically acquired through professional experience within the bicycle industry, completion of High School or equivalent, and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a guest or customer-facing capacity.
