Aircraft Avionics and Electrical Specialist (Airframe Electrical/Avionics Technician)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform maintenance and alteration tasks in accordance with the current technical data provided
- Troubleshooting and testing instruments, components, and assemblies, using circuit testers, oscilloscopes, or voltmeters
- Inspect, maintain and install airframe electronic components and avionics systems, such as navigational, radar technology, radio communication systems, and electronic flight control components
- Use associated testing systems to diagnose and repair airframe electrical problems
- Document the work carried out in written reports
- Document and report maintenance and repair work
- Adjust, repair, or replace malfunctioning components
- Organize and operate ground support and test equipment to support testing of electrical components
- Assemble components including switches, electrical controls, and junction boxes and connect components to assemblies.
- Route and secure airframe electrical wiring using standard airframe practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Aircraft Structures Experience a plus
- Minimum GED or High School Graduate education required
- 3 years of experience in aircraft supporting airframe electrical and/or avionics systems integration desired
- FAA certificate meeting CFR 65 Subpart D or E (Repairman, A, or A&P license) or military aircraft experience is desired
- Have completed on-the-job training for systems being supported
This position performs functions, or is immediately available to perform functions that are considered safety sensitive for the purpose of maintenance or preventive maintenance as defined by 14 CFR 121. Therefore, employment and continued employment with the company is conditioned upon full compliance with the company's Antidrug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program as required by 14 CFR Part 120, 135, 145 and 49 CFR Part 40.
