II. General Summary of Duties:

EMPath manages a learning network, the Economic Mobility Exchange (“Exchange”). The Exchange is comprised of 145+ organizations and government agencies from around the world interested in learning about and implementing EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring® approach and tools used to support low-income families and individuals in their goal to become economically self-sufficient. The Associate of Member Relations will be responsible for supporting the Exchange with a concentration in the Workforce Development sector and activities within, developing and maintaining strong relationships with a portfolio of member organizations, outreach, facilitating workshops and trainings and helping to continuously evolve the model.


Salary:
$48,000-$50,000 USD Annually

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday

Position Title: Associate Member Relations, Economic Mobility Exchange

Supervisor: Director of Member Relations


ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with network members;
  • Support members and provide technical assistance;
  • Create opportunities to share and disseminate research, learnings and resources amongst network members; best practices in economic mobility and poverty alleviation approaches
  • Feedback knowledge and insights gained from working with outside partners to core operations managers, in order to continue to evolve models and practices;
  • Participate in internal quality improvement and cross-departmental innovation initiatives (i.e. sub-committees focused on workforce development, learning teams, etc.);
  • Co-facilitate EMPath trainings, workshops, and presentations in-person, remote, and/or online via EMPath’s learning management system Engage@EMPath;
  • Represent EMPath at conferences, webinars, external meetings, and other events to market and outreach, disseminate learning, research, and create opportunities;
  • Research best practices to support and advance economic mobility for low-income households;
  • Other related research, administrative, and development duties as necessary


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to be culturally competent and practice cultural humility when working in various settings and communities represented by learning network membership
  • Knowledge of economic mobility approaches and programming
  • Excellent team building, collaboration skills; the ability to influence at a variety of professional levels
  • Experience in a fast-paced innovative environment
  • Experience and comfort in public presentations
  • Ability to listen and learn from others and to synthesize and share salient points for continuous model improvement
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work on a diverse set of business and organizational opportunities and challenges
  • Outstanding project management and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of current trends and best practices for helping individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency
  • Interest in understanding the impacts of poverty, chronic stress, and trauma on executive functioning skills
  • Flexible, high degree of comfort with ambiguity and fast paced environment, enthusiasm, and a good sense of humor essential


Educational and Other Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree (Masters preferred) in a relevant field required (ie. social work, human services, public health, sociology, psychology, education, public administration)
  • Experience or strong knowledge of workforce development, child and family serving systems, early education and care, and understanding of non-profit organizational development required
  • Experience working with diverse populations and low-income communities
  • Understanding of trauma-informed models, motivational interviewing, EMPath’s Mobility Mentoring® model desirable
  • Experience providing technical assistance and/or consultation to nonprofit organizations desirable
  • Commitment to EMPath’s mission
  • Ability to travel out of state approximately 5% of time
  • Hybrid remote schedule; ability to travel to the office at least once per week
