Job description
The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing a sales floor staff of 8-15 associates to achieve sales, maintain merchandise presentation, satisfy guest needs and achieve profitability goals.
- Drive store sales to exceed goals.
- Provide high quality and well-informed guest services while following store policy.
- Hire, train and develop a strong, sales-oriented team.
- Work with owners to create impactful presentations and displays of merchandise that are focused on customer engagement.
- Maintain store facilities to ensure safety and security for all guests and staff.
- Prepare cash reports and merchandise orders, using a computer to process information and transactions.
- Help prepare for store events. (examples: Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, Girls Night Out)

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Experience in the retail gift or home furnishings industry.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to sell product and lead your sales team in superior guest service and engagement.
- Demonstrate ability to direct, coach, and train others in a retail setting.
- Ability to use computer terminal to process information and transactions required.
- Flexibility in work schedule including the ability to work extended hours, weekends and holidays as need requires.
- Ability to continuously stand/walk, frequently push/pull, occasionally bend/stoop/crawl/reach above shoulders/kneel, climb a ladder and carry up to 40 pounds of fixtures and cartons.
Compensation: Flexible schedule and hourly pay rate depending on experience, plus availability to participate in medical plan and retirement plan.
