PROGRAM & POSITION SUMMARY:
The Rental Assistance Program (RAP), a program of Catholic Charities, provides Rental Assistance to families and singles in San Francisco to help them maintain or obtain permanent housing. RAP assists families in permanent housing who are in danger of eviction or who need help to move to a more sustainable rental situation. Service components provided include needs assessment, landlord mediation, referrals to tenancy counseling and legal assistance, necessary referrals, and access to financial/rental assistance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide a variety of direct services to clients, such as responding in a timely manner, to emails and calls regarding RAP services and information/referral, addressing RAP visitor questions and needs, and providing an overall welcoming environment.
- Data entry, including CARES and BACS Systems
- Creation and appropriate storage of client files
- Ensuring and implementing Policies and Procedures of the Agency.
- Produce and reconcile monthly and quarterly reports requested.
- Monitor statistical program progress and draft program reports for funders.
- Maintain inventory system and ordering for program inclusive of food, office supplies, and program supplies.
- Overseeing clerical tasks and duties assigned and sorting and sending mail.
- Taking and delivering messages for RAP staff
- Maintain accurate client referral information
- Help build positive relations within the programs and external parties and act as liaison between Catholic Charities RAP program and other community agencies
- Schedule and Organize meetings/events for the program and sending meeting invites to attendees.
- Ensure Technologies is used correctly for all operations (videoconference, presentations, etc.).
- As needed cover the morning and afternoon breaks for the front desk receptionist. (1 -2 day a week)

Education & Experience:
- AA or BA degree, plus two years of experience preferred
- Experience with San Francisco housing resources and public benefits
- Experience working with Program Coordination
- Other relevant experience will be considered
- Experience working with persons in crisis
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to speak Spanish or Cantonese highly preferred.:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver effective, culturally competent services
- Ability to work with clients in distress
- Ability to assess emergency situations and react accordingly by accessing appropriate medical/social systems.
- Experience and commitment to work with individuals experiencing extremely difficult life circumstances, and/or those living with mental illness, using substances and in crisis.
- Knowledge of relevant San Francisco service providers or demonstrated ability to learn and organize this information
- Possess problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Possess strong time management and prioritization skills as well as ability to follow-through independently
- Must be able to read and write English
- Ability to work independently and effectively on multiple projects, simultaneously
- Work collaboratively as a member of a fast-paced team
- Proficient in the use of computers and a variety of software applications

COUNCIL ON ACCREDITATION (COA) ROLES:
Is responsible for accurate and timely data entry that aids Performance and Quality Improvement (PQI) reporting and case record reviews.
Is responsible for accurate and timely submission of case records.
