JOB DESCRIPTION

1. BACKGROUND

Montech Inc. is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide administrative assistance and building management services. This position is Part-Time. This position supports the the Marine Street Science Center (located in Building 6 at the University of Colorado), which houses several Survey laboratories and staff from the Water Mission Area, Water Resources, and other Survey missions. Staff is made up research scientists and science managers, many of whom are highly specialized.

Montech Inc. is the contractor working with USGS NWQL to obtain a PT employee to support at the Marine Street Science Center.

2. SCOPE

The ideal candidate has strong customer services traits, high degree of autonomy and serves as a focal point for building-related matters and coordinating with staff (CU Boulder, GSA, and USGS). Montech Inc is seeking candidates with basic familiarity with Word and Excel is required and these programs must be used in the performance of this task. Must possess good coordination, customer service, and organizational skills, as a variety of clients reside at the facility. Additionally, the candidates must be eligible to operate a government-owned vehicle (GOV) for purposes of maintenance, package handling, and official business, and be able to manage and organize office and storage spaces.

3. PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Responsible for following all standards/guidelines: Standard Operating Procedures, Safety, Hazardous Waste, Administrative, and Property policies at the LASD, USGS, and DOI level, GSA vehicle regulations, as well as associated procedures, requirements, and guidelines.

Task 1: Administrative:

a. Greet, receive, and direct visitors, distribute CU parking passes and Buff One cards, and manage open rooms and the hoteling office for visitors and staff.

b. Sort and deliver USPS mail and FedEx shipments. May require use of a GOV.

c. Update and post building signage and facility maps.

d. Answers questions about the USGS such as location of facilities, room numbers, and email addresses of personnel.

e. Scan, copy, and fax documents as needed; maintain paper and toners levels and generate service tickets or warranty calls when necessary.

Task 2: Facilities Management:

a. Safely operate a government owned vehicle for the purposes of package handling, official business, and maintenance; maintain vehicle logs and associated documents.

b. Coordinate with the LASD ROPC to catalog and transport federal property to the Receiving Officer Property Clerk (ROPC).

c. Coordinate with GSA and CU offices for general facility management. May require use of a GOV.

d. Assign and maintain building keys in a secure manner.

e. Manage loading dock activities; provide move support; organize and maintain storage facilities.

f. Strictly adheres to all safety, health, and environment processes and procedures daily.

No travel will be required for completion of these tasks.

4. TRAVEL

Operate a government-owned vehicle for the purposes of package handling, official business, and maintenance. Possession of valid Driver's License and passing a Background Investigation.

5. TRAINING

The Government will provide training exclusively for tasks that require knowledge of systems unique to USGS. All GSA/DOI/USGS required safety and security training shall be provided by GSA/DOI/USGS.

6. PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Office work is sedentary and may involve periods of working at a desk, and computer terminals; facilities support may require moving furniture or storage objects un-assisted or with mechanical assistance such a hand cart or dolly. Some driving will be required.
