Position: Bilingual (Spanish/English) Casa Quezada Activities Coordinator
Reports to: Casa Quezada Program Manager
Schedule: 12:00pm-8:00pm, Monday through Friday with occasional morning, weekend, and late
evening hours as needed.
Compensation: $21.00/hr. for 40 hours per week. Benefits for full-time employees include medical,

Program Description:
The Dolores Hotel is a 52-unit, supportive housing residential hotel owned and operated by Dolores Street Community Services (DSCS). Support services at the Dolores Hotel will be provided by DSCS and the Mission Neighborhood Resource Center (MNRC).
We provide an integrated, on-site support services team that includes intensive case management, harm-reduction counseling, psychosocial therapy, psychiatric services, nutritional support/food services, and community building and education programs. The support service team works in collaboration with the property management team to achieve the overarching goal of housing stabilization. Services are culturally and linguistically appropriate.
Position Description:
This is a hybrid position that combines elements of community building, resource navigation, activities coordination, and food service. This position will interact directly with residents in community building and resource navigation that is client centered and treats everyone with the upmost dignity and respect. The activities coordination includes planning for onsite and offsite events that enrich the lives of our residents and support client stabilization. Planning for holidays, anniversary events, resident birthdays, and other community building activities are required. This position also requires daily participation in our dinner program.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Building & Resource Navigation, 30%:
- Support the stabilization of Dolores Hotel residents by providing referrals, community resources, and basic problem solving such as appointment reminders, benefit renewal, rental assistance, etc.
- Assists tenants with filling out building forms including, but not limited to repair requests, annual surveys, incident reports, intake forms, etc.
- Collaborates with the Support Services Team and the Property Management Team to respond to tenant needs, and tenant issues that require stabilization efforts.
- Refers and conducts follow up on referrals made to City and community-based resources.
Activities Coordination, 30%:
- Coordinates 4 to 8 monthly social, educational, recreational, and civic engagement activities for residents of the Dolores Hotel onsite/offsite.
- Develops and maintains working relationships with other community organizations with whom to partner for the provision of programs and services.
- Maintains records for community building, resource navigation, and activities in order to produce a monthly report of resident participation and outcomes.
- Creates outreach materials for activities and resources along with phone outreach to meet the minimum threshold of attendance.
Food Service, 40%:
- Manages food set-up, serving, clean-up, and supply inventory during our dinner program.
- Supervises any food service volunteers when volunteers are available.
- Uses safe server practices for preventing cross contamination.
- Supports with any Desk Clerk coverage needed with either full or partial shifts.
Other Organizational Duties:
- Conducts business in accordance with the DSCS Employee Handbook, exercising sound judgment and serving the best interests of the agency and the community.
- Commits to treating each community member with respect and dignity.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Verbal and written fluency in Spanish and English is required
- Background in and passion for working with low-income and immigrant communities around issues of affordable housing, land use, and/or immigrant & worker rights; familiarity with these issues in the Mission District and San Francisco, highly desired.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment that includes Latino Day Laborers, LGBT tenants, people with mental health disabilities, and/or drug use histories.
- Commitment to producing professional and high-quality work, ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Docs.
- Ability to set and maintain good boundaries with clients, staff and volunteers.
- Courteous and respectful, even under pressure; ability to de-escalate situations.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Ability to work occasional morning, weekend, and late evening hours as needed.
