POSITION SUMMARY
The Wire Payments Support II ensures all wire transfers are handled securely, accurately, and timely to manage risk while maintaining Commencement Bank’s objectives and desired level of customer satisfaction. Managing deadlines, meticulous attention to detail, the ability to monitor for wire authenticity and follow Bank security protocols are of utmost importance for this position. Additionally, the willingness to perform other duties or projects not pertaining to wires is required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures as well as state and federal banking regulations, as applicable
- Follow all BSA/AML/OFAC guidelines and complete annual training as assigned
- Adhere to changes in regulatory environment, especially as they relate to electronic payments
- Entry and verification of incoming and outgoing domestic and international wire transfers within time limits
- Ensure wire transfer instructions provided by the client have been executed properly and call back procedures have been followed
- Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained and payment request forms are completed satisfactorily
- Ability to determine when payment activity is suspicious and quickly respond with appropriate actions
- Payment exception processing and investigation
- Manage customers’ authorization forms and their retention
- Review and manage recurring wire forms/templates and manage retention of each
- Perform daily back-office operations processes related to ACH, checks, debit cards, and unposted items as needed
- Assist with reporting and preparation for audits and exams as assigned
- Work payment-related fraud items as assigned
- Take initiative in personal development plan to grow job specific skills and proficiencies
- Complete special projects as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum five years’ experience working for a financial institution handling wire transfers
- Demonstrated ability to serve as knowledgeable resource in all areas of wire transfers including, but not limited to, SWIFT codes, service messages, intermediary banks, correspondent banks, foreign exchange, and the proper use of IBAN, CLABE, and Canadian Transit Numbers.
- Familiarity with Regulation E, Regulation CC, Regulation J and UCC4a as it relates to wires
- Have a meticulous and thorough approach with a very high attention to detail
- Work under limited supervision and exercise good judgement within guidelines
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Analyze, evaluate, and resolve issues quickly
- Work collaboratively within a team and with other bank departments to reach mutual goals
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with clients and internal departments, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to learn and follow policies and procedures
- Proficient in Word, Excel, Teams, Share Point, and Outlook
- Adapt easily to changing situations and interruptions
- Ability to work with or without coworkers in a sparsely occupied office
- Exercise appropriate judgement in prioritizing work tasks
- Treats people with respect; works ethically and with integrity; accepts responsibility for own actions
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time
- Must be able to effectively and frequently communicate and exchange accurate information, in person and in a virtual environment
- Must be able to work in a cubicle environment with moderate noise levels and manage frequent virtual messaging and interruptions during the day
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school graduate or GED required
- APRP certification, Wire Transfer certification, or similar payment-related certification, preferred
