Position Title: Laundry Aide
Saturday and Sunday (11:00 AM-7:00 PM) or (2:00 PM- 10:00 PM)
Position Summary: The purpose of this position is to ensure patients/residents clothing items are washed, dried, folded (according to department procedures/instructions) and returned to the appropriate patient/resident in a professional and friendly manner. Communicate with Housekeeping Supervisor/Environmental Director regarding any issues or needs to complete job duties.
Responsibilities:
- Sorting, washing, drying, and folding clothing.
- Remove stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
- Tracking what items belong to whom.
- Keep an updated inventory of laundry supplies.
- Ensure facility linen/laundry needs are met.
Qualifications:
- One (1) to Three (3) years of housekeeping/laundry experience (healthcare experience preferred)
- High degree of professionalism and strong work ethic.
- Organizational, follow-through and communications skills.
- Must be dependable, proactive, and prompt.
- Ability to multi-task and stay focused on the big picture.
Education:
- High school diploma required. Healthcare experience preferred.
Other Qualifications:
- Must possess a general appreciation of seniors and an understanding of the aging process, as well as be aware of its challenges. The maintenance and promotion of a good working relationship between staff, families and residents is essential.
- Must exhibit and promote a high level of customer service and hospitality towards and among all residents, employees, visitors, and the community
