Wastewater Treatment Operator, Unlicensed Operator

Looking for a new and exciting career??? The Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority, located in Boonton, New Jersey is currently hiring. Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority treats up to 12 million gallons per day of wastewater from households, commercial and industrial facilities. These wastes are considered sanitary and industrial wastes.

The Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority is looking for honest, dedicated and motivated individuals who are looking for a solid career path and to learn and grow in the field of wastewater. We are willing to train the right candidate in all aspects of wastewater treatment! Unlicensed Operators earn a starting hourly rate of $24.73; with an additional $1.00 per hour for the evening shift (11:00 pm to 7:30 am). We pay an $.25 an hour for a CDL Class B. First year earning potential over, $53,000. There is an open position for a Third Shift Unlicensed Operator for Tuesday – Saturday shift. Overtime hours available after training period!!

Successful candidates will be required to obtain a New Jersey DEP License S-1 within three (3) years of hire. As an employee of the Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority, you will earn two weeks’ vacation after the first year, paid sick time, paid holidays, State of New Jersey health & pension benefits, company paid dental as well as short term disability.

Duties will include, but not limited to performing various tests; collecting influent, effluent, oxidation ditch & sludge samples; responding to pump station and meter chamber alarms; flushing scum leaches/hoppers/collectors; scrubbing and hosing tanks; removing rags from grates; operating VFD’s, RAS and WAS equipment; maintaining various record logs; and various other tasks as assigned.
