Job Title: Warehouse Staff
Classification: Full-time, Hourly Non-Exempt
Supervisor: Warehouse Manager/Store Manager
The ideal candidate for this position must be able to receive and inspect stock items for wear and defects, report damage to supervisors, and stock items and record data manually. He or she will receive and distribute materials, products and supplies to designated locations of the warehouse and lumber yard using a forklift and hand truck, and provide assistance and direction to other warehouse workers when necessary.
Work activities include assisting customers in loading materials when presented with a work order, unload material upon return, and assist with the unloading of delivery and vendor vehicles when necessary. He or she will advise customers and other staff on the availability of supplies and materials requested, and will occasionally compare inventory against physical counts of stock and check differences. The candidate must maintain and organize all sales and delivery paperwork daily, and deliver it to his or her supervisor at the end of each work day.
He or she must be physically fit and able to lift 10 – 80 pounds comfortably on a regular basis, and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis; be dependable, hardworking and an effective communicator with a professional and pleasant attitude to be able to give a positive customer service experience. The candidate must also inspect delivery forklift daily looking for anything problematic (low tire pressure, tire wear, dents, etc.), report any abnormalities, and refuel vehicles as needed.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent certification, be proficient or trainable at driving a forklift, and have reliable transportation to get to work. Previous experience operating hand trucks, pallet jacks and forklifts is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish is also a plus.
Salary for this position will be based on a candidate’s experience, education, and qualifications.
