This is an important member of the cargo-partner warehouse team that oversees day-to-day operations. The Team Leader tasks include functions consistent with the company's established policies, goals, and objectives, to help maintain and lead our warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversees daily warehouse operations and plans, directs, and organizes labor and other resources to optimize receiving, shipping, and distribution activities.
- Oversees the warehouse administration team by giving directions, measuring performance and distributing the workload on daily basis.
- Ensures that back-up protocols are in place in case of absence from the team.
- Ensures customer’s overall satisfaction through consistent and timely communication via email and phone calls.
- Maintains integrity of inventory through effective use of controls, procedures, organization, cycle counting, reconciliation to computer system, and physical security.
- Creates SOPs for each customer, including training & cross training of warehouse support team.
- Liaison between warehouse management and support team, ensuring seamless admin operations.
- Point person for all issues that are escalated by admin team, helping resolve in a timely matter.
- Assists with monthly billing process, ensuring creation of invoices within the 3rd day following period close requirement is maintained.
- Is an advocate for all company safety & accident processes as well as maintains FDA standards and requirements.
- Contributes ideas on ways to reduce warehouse costs and increase productivity, including minimizing overtime needs of department.
- Provides input into development of IT tools and utilities to streamline warehouse operations.
- Participates in the development of the warehouse.
- Participates in quality improvement efforts while maintaining a safe, clean working environment.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Excellent written & oral communication skills.
- Experience with warehouse logistics and inventory management AS400 systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow and meet daily deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Knowledge and experience with 5S strategies.
- Minimum of 5 years forklift and reach truck experience.
- Familiarity of shipping practices and handling methods; working knowledge of Fedex & UPS systems.
- Previous team management and warehouse administration experience.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Employee is frequently required to walk, or stand long periods and must be able to lift 20 lbs.
Hours & Compensation
- This is a full time position, second shift position, Monday-Friday, 4:00pm-12:30am.
- Compensation is $25.00 per hour.
