Role and Responsibilities

The VP, IT is responsible for the direction and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure, security, company data strategy/reporting, compliance activities, help desk activities, IT budgets, overall corporate IT governance and roadmap. The VP, IT will provide leadership and oversight within our internal team, as well as support our overall IT strategy for the corporation. The Vice President of Information Systems will oversee the planning, development, implementation, maintenance, and security of the company’s information systems and processes including computer, communication, and office systems. This position will be responsible for maintaining knowledge of relevant industry software and data sets that should be considered as part of the MPG technology roadmap, wherever possible, creating efficiency via automation for our team.

This position will also coordinate systems and IT integration that arise from M&A activities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains management and professional-level staff in the department.
  • Oversees the schedules and responsibilities of management-level staff in the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • Establishes the strategic direction of the company’s information systems and data strategy; executes this strategy in collaboration with company leadership.
  • Directs and coordinates professional services such as systems analysis and design, feasibility studies, and programming of information, communication, and office automation systems.
  • Identifies and recommends new technologies and services that will improve efficiency, processes, and operations; reviews requests for additional services and upgrades, assessing the costs and benefits to the organization.
  • Approves the purchase, rent, lease, license, or other acquisition of hardware, software, or services needed to meet company needs.
  • Approves all new information security policies and any updates to existing policies.
  • Monitors and reports progress on development projects, resource utilization, and production performance to executive leadership.
  • Ensures the integrity and reliability of computerized information systems, communication systems, and office systems including the security of data acquired and stored.
  • Facilitates preparation of project plans and proposals, outlining project objectives, IS requirements, and analytical and programming staffing requirements for proposed systems.
  • Maintains pace with technological progress, economic change, and company needs by directing continual improvements of IT staff, equipment, and procedures.
  • Prepares, implements, and executes IT budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrated experience leading IT organizations in dynamic accelerated growth environments.
  • Proven track record rolling out new systems and leading organizations through required change management.
  • Working knowledge of implementing strategies and tools to implement and maintain SOC and ISO compliance.
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/deliverables at a time.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Thorough understanding of IS policies and procedures.
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly master technology used in the organization.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proficient with Business Central (MS Dynamics) is a plus.

Experience

At least ten years of experience in a technical role required, with significant leadership experience preferred. Experience working with a mostly virtual workforce and cloud technologies is also preferred.

Working Conditions

Candidate will work remotely from their home. Preferred candidate should be in the Eastern or Central United States with reasonable proximity to an airport. There is travel with this position for team meetings, site visits, or similar.

This position will reports to the CFO and will also work closely with the SVP of IT within the company’s data management division to ensure alignment with the Company’s strategic IT direction.
