This position will operate on a temporary, remote basis. Pocket Gems is seeking an experienced visual storyteller to work with us on a new romance game. You'll work closely with the project's Creative Lead and content team on originally-developed content to direct scenes using our library of art, animation, and set-ups. Applicants must be reliable, independently deadline-driven, and self-motivated, while also enjoying collaborating with other writers and designers to create an enjoyable story and game experience.

What You'll Do:

• From a completed script, you'll use proprietary tools to execute a well-paced dynamic scene: laying out characters, controlling the camera, adding animations, adding transitions, etc.
• You'll be given a library of characters, costumes, backgrounds, and animations to help create compelling interactive scenes.
• You'll work with the story lead and writer to iterate on each draft of the episode.

What You Bring to the Team:

• Passionate about visual storytelling, especially within the mobile gaming space.
• Have a deep understanding of narrative structure and how it can be communicated visually.
• Strong technical, creative, and editorial skills.
• Skilled in writing, reviewing, and editing game content and dialogs using Unity and Visual Studio Code.
• A collaborator; each story has a team of 2-10 people, who work together in service of the story. You must be a team player and put the story before your own work or ego.
  • Reliably meets deadlines, communicating regularly and effectively with the team.
  • Effectively receives and implements creative feedback.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Technical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Loves reality television, dating shows, and/or romantic interactive story apps.
• Quick to learn and adapt to internal proprietary tools.
