What you will do:
The Warehouse Associate will oversee merchandise from arrival to delivery. They will maintain and keep the warehouse organized and may deliver supplies, merchandise, and cheese and ice cream orders to the Creamery daily. The Warehouse Associate maintains Tillamook’s Shared Values, helping support a world-class guest experience to the one million guests that visit annually.
Here’s a day in the life:
· Unload incoming freight from trucks using a forklift, verifying against the packing slips and purchase orders.
· Collect and move all merchandise from warehouse to pricing area, organizing in an orderly fashion.
· Process and inspect all merchandise for quality, damage and/or breakage, and shortages. Separate unacceptable or broken merchandise from saleable items for return to vendor.
· Price all saleable merchandise and transfer to racks for deliver to Creamery or return to pallet for storage in the warehouse.
· Scan barcodes to verify that information is entered into the POS system correctly.
· Act as a backup to Retail Receiving Clerk.
· Foster positive working relationships with all internal and external vendors, customers, coworkers, and management.
· Organize merchandise and supplies for all departments in appropriate locations.
· Drive truck for all creamery warehouse deliveries.
· Perform delivery truck offloading tasks such as using a forklift to unload delivery trucks.
· Assist with cross verification of inbound orders packing slips vs creamery purchase orders.
· Maintain containers, warehouse space at 2500 Latimer in orderly fashion.
· Complete pick sheets and deliver to retail stockroom.
· Utilize a computer with intermediate knowledge of POS systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams and One Drive
· Work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible in working on multiple projects simultaneously.
· Demonstrate excellent time-management skills with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
· Assist in training seasonal team members and oversee their work.
· Complete cross-dock for PDX Tillamook Market twice a week.
· Assist with annual inventory by preparing warehouse for counting. Be part of the team doing the physical counting.
· Help identify opportunities for training and efficiency.
· Follow company standards and set the example for coworkers.
· Act as a team player. Establish and maintain effective relationships with employees, supervisors, and vendors.
· Communicate effectively.
· Other duties as needed and assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· High school diploma or GED is preferred.
· 3 years of retail receiving, or retail stocking experience preferred.
· Experience with retail receiving software preferred (CounterPoint SQL preferably).
· Experience operating a forklift and pallet jack preferred.
· Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
· Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
· Perform basic arithmetic.
· Valid Oregon Driver’s License
· Forklift Certification or ability to obtain certification
Physical Requirements:
· Standing and/or walking
· Bend, push, pull, and/or climb daily
· Lifting up to 40 lbs.
· Vision for machine or computer operations
· Hearing for operating machinery
· Travel approximately 5-10%, valid driver’s license required
· Other (able to travel in a car or plane on a regular basis)
