40 years ago, Silver Oaks opened its doors as a boutique, multidisciplinary creative company specializing in graphic design, video, interactive programming, and photography. Locally owned and operated in Moline, IL, the team puts a large emphasis on creating a welcoming and inspiring workplace for entrepreneurial creatives.

You’ve seen our work around the Quad Cities and nationwide. Primary clients include museums, sports halls of fame, heritage sites, and corporate communication teams (to support both internal and external comms).

The Role:

We are looking for a Video editor and motion graphics editor who has a mix of business acumen, customer perspective, collaboration skills and creative expertise.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable in editing video using existing footage, creating new animations and motion graphics, and occasionally gets behind the camera on shoots. We are a small team; this role is dynamic and varied. You will be editing projects from start to finish, creating animations from designs you've collaborated on with our graphic design team, providing support to the other videographers on the team and bringing in new capabilities and perspectives to our projects.

One day, you could be working on a video for internal communications at a local manufacturing company. The next day you could be animating motion graphics for an interface at an exhibit in a national Hall of Fame, then have to pivot to working on an interview edit for a museum client.

As a creative service organization, we pride ourselves in excellent customer service, attention to detail, meeting and exceeding client creative expectations. Your task will be to design and develop the engaging creative we're known for producing. We are looking for a creative who is willing to share their vision and voice at the brainstorming table.

Our ideal candidate:

• Has an extensive and varied skill set in video editing and motion graphics
• Has experience in one or more of the following: -Video editing -Animation -Motion Graphics -2D and/or 3D software -Graphic Design for Video

The day-to-day:

• Edit graphics and footage to provided scripts
• Create new animations from art files provided
• Provide creative direction for video projects
• Utilize client provided graphics packages and video content to further development
• Occasionally provide support on shoots, being either Camera 2 or Grip.
• Follow client guidelines while pushing creativity
• Engage in client facing meetings regarding potential and existing projects
• Work in a team environment
• Create and meet deadlines
• Provide input for estimating

You bring:

• 3+ years video editing and/or animation, preferably in house
• Strong technical skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop & Illustrator
• Teamwork and collaboration skills

The logistics:

• Candidate Location: Within 1 hour driving distance to Moline, IL
• Office Location: Moline, IL
• Work Remote: Yes, hybrid workweek

*There is a twice-per-week in office expectation on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Job Type: Full-time

• Salary Range: $50,000-$62,000/year
