This role will provide Sales leadership to the Drilling Segment, providing direction to the global sales organization related to commercial pursuits in this segment.
Job Responsibilities
Sales Strategy:
  • Develops a comprehensive sales strategy for the Drilling Segment in concert with Regional Sales Leaders, and other P&L Functional leaders (DLS/Services, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, etc.) ensuring alignment with overall company objectives
  • Responsible for effective implementation of global land and offshore strategies for HMH.
  • Maintains current knowledge in developing trends and technologies within the industry.
  • Collaborates with senior executives to communicate potential growth opportunities for the Drilling Segment.
Business Development:
  • Establishes and maintains strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Meets with customers on a regular basis.
  • Enables communication for regional leaders and/or support as needed.
  • Leverages market data / intelligence to develop commercial pursuit strategies.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and finance, to ensure a cohesive approach to sales and business development efforts.
Sales Leadership:
  • Provides direction to the global sales organization related to Drilling Segment pursuits.
  • Sets global sales targets/KPIs and monitors performance.
  • Develops and prioritizes a comprehensive sales strategy in concert with Regional Sales Leaders, ensuring alignment with the overall company objectives and providing support as required.
Business Planning:
  • Develops and maintains a regular operating rhythm around industry opportunities and demand, which will proactively drive fulfillment decisions and optimize supply chain response. Successfully connects strategy and pursuits to performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring that global yearly budgets are met
  • Communicates Drilling Segment performance and progress vs plan. to senior leadership through periodic status reports and presentations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technical or Business discipline from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a sales / technical / commercial role or in Operations role
  • Proven experience in a Technical / Commercial Operations role, within the global Drilling industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of both land and offshore drilling markets required.
  • Extensive travel is required (up to 50%)
Desired Characteristics
  • Master’s degree in a Technical or Business discipline
  • Minimum 5 years management or leadership experience
  • Strong change management skills and experience leading organizational transitions to ensure successful adoption of new processes
  • Executive level presence with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to identify and implement best practices and continual performance improvements
  • Highly motivated and able to lead teams and achieve organizational goals
