Vice President, Creative & Marketing
Job description
JOB SUMMARY:
The Creative & Marketing VP is responsible for executing the property’s overall placemaking strategy, including the development and implementation of the strategic marketing and events plan, community engagement strategies, and other site activation initiatives, with the intent of adding value to multiple large scale mixed up developments in the South Bay.
We are looking for an individual to work as a member of a dedicated team of professionals that support and partner with our client (one of the world's largest tech companies) to help create best-in-class community experiences. This role is required to be onsite 3-5 days per week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in marketing related to retail, mixed-use, or hospitality industries; and
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role on retail projects; or
- Any combination of education, training, or experience that provide the candidate with the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strategy & Planning
- Create and manage marketing project budgets, initiatives and timelines
- Create strategy, budget and calendar for activations, installations, and events
- Contribute to the development of program strategy and brand positioning for the overall visitor experience
- Identify, develop, and manage strategic other creative initiatives and plans, including the design and production of creative strategy, naming exercises, neighborhood research/discovery, advertising campaigns, social media management, website development, digital / email marketing campaigns, and additional projects as needed
- Responsible for forecasting and analyzing ROI to maximize marketing dollars spent
- Ensure regulatory compliance is met
Marketing & Program Execution
- Develop event schedules and programming calendars that align with strategic initiatives and development goals and constraints
- Identify and recruit speakers, partners and instructors for events and activations
- Identify relevant new audiences and target marketing strategies
- Coordination with design teams to produce marketing collateral
- Responsible for execution and oversight of district events
- Promote and support retailer-driven programming and strategies
- Uphold creative and aesthetic standards for visual merchandising, signage, advertising and event programs
- Assist Public Relations and Comms teams in maintaining effective media relations
- Ability to launch and grow social media channels including the development of content strategies
Cultivate Relationships
- Identify and develop community and strategic partnerships
- Work within a cross functional team, development partners and have clear understanding of the development process
- Engage and build pipeline of panelists, speakers, and other content and distribution partners to execute program strategy
- Interface with regional and global leadership about marketing initiatives/plans to ensure that development goals, budgets and timelines are complete, accurate, and adhered to
- Hire, train and manage local placemaking activation team which will include marketing and event managers and event center team
Tracking & Reporting
- Help establish compelling metrics and reporting mechanisms to indicate the impact of the program
- Report on all metrics surrounding user acquisition strategies
- Forecast and manage marketing and events budget
