NOW HIRING – Full time Veterinary Technician required for busy 7 doctor AAHA Accredited practice in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Pinellas Animal Hospital is a growing company, with a positive work culture; our team is a solid group of dedicated professionals who strive to deliver the best veterinary and client care available to both our patients and clients. We have been serving our community for 50 years and have a long-standing client base.
We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic self-starter, proficient in all technical skills, at least 1 year of clinical experience is preferred, but we would be willing to train the right applicant. Must possess strong communication skills with the ability to work well within a team. Wages depend upon qualifications and experience.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience preferred in performing the following tasks:
- In-house diagnostics including in-house fecal analysis, urinalysis, CBC, Chemistry, blood smears, ear and fungal analysis and radiography.
- Proficiency in phlebotomy, IM, SQ, IV injections and catheter placement
- Knowledgeable in veterinary medicine, commonly used medications, and protocols.
- Proficient anesthetic skills.
- Confident in restraint and patient handling. Must be able to lift 50lbs, stand for extended periods of time and can effectively manage fractious patients.
- Excellent communication skills to promote client education and answer client questions regarding preventative care and medical questions/concerns.

· Communication is key to a smooth workflow and to keep everybody updated and informed when we are not all together, we communicate through various channels on the SLACK app.

· Work-life balance is important to all of us, and we demonstrate that with your schedule. You will work 4 days a week and be assigned one set day off during the week. Your schedule will also include working every other Saturday. When this occurs, you will then get an additional half day off during the week. We are closed on Sundays; however, Technicians are assigned one weekend out of every 8/10 weeks to provide treatments to hospitalized patients when necessary.
· As we all know, this field is unpredictable and as a team from time to time we take turns to work longer than scheduled.
