The Vehicle Software Requirement/Evaluation Engineer is responsible to work with the engineering and program teams in the preparation and execution of vehicle evaluations and data collection from the Voice of the Customer perspective. You will report directly to the Voice of the Customer Supervisor.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Hands on vehicle expert for vehicle level testing and Voice of the Customer Software Performance and Human Interface Evaluation.
  • Development of Software Requirement in Polarion System
  • Drive requirements definition and test case development
  • Management of Requirements Database
  • Benchmark of Software and Human-Machine Interface Features.
  • Software/Calibration Targets Definition at Program Level.
  • Perform acceptance, HIL and vehicle testing, Triage and close defects.
  • Ensure that customer issues are identified, reported, and resolved prior to product launch.
  • Duties consist of root cause analysis, hands-on vehicle evaluations/diagnosis, application of diagnostic tools/equipment, collecting and analyzing data, reporting, and documenting issues, presenting information both written and verbal, participating in/facilitating meetings, directing drivers, mechanics, and technicians, along with competitive vehicle benchmarking
  • Ensure test driving feedback is documented in a clear, concise, and timely manner
  • Troubleshoot and support to resolve issues that arise during testing vehicle level
  • Engage in subjective evaluation to identify system failure modes
  • Drive prototype vehicles during certain tests.
  • Provide timely inputs and clarifications
  • Track and inspire weekly progress.
  • Produce professional and traceable documentation, including software, electrical, mechanical, and fluid schematics of the test systems.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years electronic control module development, integration, and validation?
  • BS Electrical Engineering required
  • HMI background is a plus.
  • +2 years software validation preferred
  • +2 years’ experience with vehicle evaluation, driving, preferred.
  • +2 in vehicle integration and test track is a plus.
  • Knowledge of CAN, LIN and Ethernet protocols
  • Proficient in one or more relevant programming languages is a plus
  • A strong understanding of vehicle Software Systems.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting experience.
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude
  • Prior experience with evaluation of automobiles desired.
  • Experience with Software Development and DVP&R a plus.
  • Problem solving mind set.
  • OEM and automotive experience preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory requirements is a plus.
  • Project management skills required able to start, maintain, and complete full vehicle validation test plans for reliability vehicles to identify issues, report & resolve prior to product launch
  • Ability to collect and synthesize data into meaningful information and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization
  • Ability to present information both written and verbal, participating in/facilitating meetings, directing supplier's drivers, mechanics, and technicians to meet deadlines and targets

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Hybrid or Electric Vehicle experience
  • Familiarity with the light to mid-duty truck segment features such as trailer tow, cargo lighting, and up-fitters features
  • Body Control Module release experience
  • Experience with FMVSS requirements related to Body Control electronics, such as exterior lighting and horn control functions.?
  • Knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO-26262)
  • Web based tool development and workflow automation.
