Job description

WALTER AND JACKSON INC, a family owned and operated building materials distributor, is looking for a fill-in/as needed class A or class B truck driver to work in place of the full time staff during times of scheduled time off.

Knowledge of building materials preferred but not required. This position will be required to perform duties in all weather conditions. Experience with a Moffit is preferred but not required.

The driver would be operating the Walter and Jackson fleet trucks. No need to have your own truck.

Typical work week is Monday through Friday, during the operating hours of 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Days and hours will vary according to workload and customer demands. All deliveries are local and drivers will be home every evening. We would provide notice for the need to fill in and do not anticipate any “immediate” need arising.

Qualifications are: Professional and courteous, ability and desire to work directly with our customers and others in the general public. Clean, verifiable driving record, must be dependable.

Drivers may be asked to make occasional deliveries within the city limits of Philadelphia.

Job Type: Fill-in/as needed/contract

Salary: Salary can be either by the day or hourly.

Independent contractors may be considered as well

This position will NOT qualify for company benefits.
