The Orange County Department of Social Services is seeking to fill 3 temporary Human Services Technician positions. These positions will assist with the processing and intake of Food and Nutrition Services and Medicaid program applications. Responsibilities may include interviewing clients in person or over the phone, obtaining required information, completing initial application for eligibility, verifying information obtained, explaining program requirements and options, advising or referring clients to other services as appropriate and assisting clients with other aspects of the eligibility process in various public assistance programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate’s Degree in a human services field or social work; OR

High School or General Educational Development (GED) test equivalency AND two (2) years’ related experience in human services; OR

An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined above. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All offers of employment are conditional upon successful clearance of a background check.

Employment cannot commence until the employee has been cleared.
