Technical Trainer

Summary:

• Under general supervision, utilizes knowledge, experience, and course materials to develop and train employees or customers in the principles of the training subject.

Responsibilities:

• Conducts training classes while following course outline, handouts, and texts.
• Observes trainees in the classroom to evaluate performance, offers guidance, and answers questions.
• Obtains and organizes training manuals, guides, or course materials, such as handouts or training kits.
• Works with the training team and leadership to develop and update the training curriculum.
• Participates in meetings, seminars, and training sessions to obtain information useful to the training program and integrates the information into the curriculum.
• Responsible for the placement of training kits and distribution of course materials
• Interviews trainees and administers assessments to evaluate current knowledge.
• Consults with management to receive class times and setup.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree and 3 years of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of both
• Strong functional knowledge and experience in principles of training curriculum
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Instructor certification or experience
• Strong writing skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Willing to travel up to 50% of the time

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
