Tax Managers must possess technical proficiency and the ability to supervise and complete engagements. Tax Managers must maintain a thorough knowledge of the firm’s policies and procedures and serve as intermediaries between partners, clients, and other accountants within the firm.

Tax Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for planning, supervising, and completing engagements
- Plan the timing and assigning of staff to engagements
- Possess a working knowledge of firm technology, and firm tax preparation and time and billing software
- Computer proficiency including experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Prepare client billings
- Evaluate the performance of senior accountants
- Develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Assist in administrative functions as assigned by the partners
- Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients
- Direct and review the work of staff accountants, senior accountants, and supervisors
- Review and approve tax returns prepared by assigned staff
- Be available to audit staff for consultation on tax matters
- Perform tax planning and tax preparation for individuals, estates, trusts, and small businesses
- Research unusual tax matters and ensure staff members are alert to changes in the tax law
- Personal ongoing development
- Must maintain strict client confidentiality
- Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Tax Manager Qualifications/Requirements:
- Florida CPA Required
- PTIN Required
Tax Manager Education/Experience:
- A minimum of six years’ experience in public accounting including two years in a supervisory role
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting Required
Tax Manager Work Environment:
Work will be performed in the Firm’s office or on client’s premises as needed. Work on the client’s premises may require the use of the staff member’s personal car. Some overnight travel may be required. Overtime is expected throughout the year particularly during busy seasons. Overtime will be dictated by client needs.
