Capitol Distributing is the largest convenience wholesale distributor in Idaho. Founded in 1983, Capitol delivers to retailers in Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Oregon, Washington, California, and Arizona from its 225,000 square foot distribution center in Caldwell, Idaho

The Tax Staff Accountant transforms financial information into reports and analyses used to make strategic decisions. Monitors cigarette and tobacco inventories and related tax processes. Manages and performs general tax responsibilities. Provides other accounting department support as needed. Reports to the Accounting Manager and frequently interacts with accounting, purchasing, warehouse, and management teams.

Some of what you'll do as an Associate Tax Accountant:

• Perform reconciliation and analysis of tax obligations and monitor compliance
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual excise tax reports
• Assist external tax accountant(s) with the preparation of annual income tax returns
• Support external tax auditor(s)
• Track cigarette stamp balances daily, ordering as needed
• Produce and distribute customer and vendor movement reports, as requested
• Manage the vendor credit process
• Review inventory turnover and outs by buyer reports
• Provide backup support to other accounting positions as necessary
• Other duties as assigned.

You'll be a great fit if you have:

• An associate degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent training/experience.
• 1+ years of education or related work experience preferred.
• Strong PC skills, general typing, & 10-key skills.
• Experience using finance and/or accounting software.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
