As a Systems Engineer, you will:

A week in the life of a Systems Engineer:
- Participate in systems engineering technical review events and related working groups to analyze potential impacts of proposed changes.
- Review proposed Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) and Baseline Change Request (BCR) documentation against existing systems requirements and compile technical briefs detailing likely trade-offs to include potential security impacts to other networked components.
- Participate in systems engineering requirements development to integrate enhanced capabilities and reduce security risks.
- Provide systems engineering services during site visits to vendor facilities and fleet platforms, during the conduct of Test and Evaluation evolutions.
- Work with various communities to drive consensus during trade-off studies.
- Leverage attention to detail qualities to ensure proposed systems engineering changes are thoroughly vetted and properly tested prior to integration into operational environments.
- Design and develop solutions that serve to enhance the security posture of tactical networks such as systems level backup methods and authenticator management solutions.
- Provide systems administration services during the planning and execution of RED TEAM evolutions to include analysis of penetration testing results to derive needed remediation or mitigation steps.
- Provide technical support in working group meetings to assess cyber security impacts to engineering changes; prepare, maintain, and distribute action items and meeting minutes.
- Gather information and make recommendations for systems cyber security postures.
- Provide input to monthly cyber security analysis reports.
- Travel to various government sites to provide systems administration expertise on-site (as needed).

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $60k - 78k. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. - Bachelors Degree in Engineering
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Cyber Security Workforce (CSWF) qualified
- Windows ESS certifications
- 3 years of experience in some combination of the following:
- Systems engineering in Linux or Windows based systems with a preference for prior systems administration services for tactical networks or other critical infrastructures.
- System/program knowledge including:
- BYG-1
- Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES)
- Strategic Systems Program (SSP)
- US Navy operations
- Host Based Security System (HBSS)
- Cyber Security Systems Engineering
- Program Protection or Anti-Tamper Plans, Supply Chain Management
- Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)
