JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems/Configuration Analyst is responsible for configuring our highly customizable insurance and sales platforms to meet business needs. The objective is to configure programs, based on Merit's standards and expectations, so the platform delivers ROI and value. This is achieved through leveraging analytical and deductive problem-solving skills to write rule-based equations to address a variety of situations and scenarios. You will be primarily responsible for supporting and delivering the definition, design, configuration and amendment of insurance software processes to meet business needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Job Duties:
- Assist in configuration of company applications based on business requirements
- Interpret business needs and translate them into documented business, functional and technical requirements
- Work with business stakeholders to provide advice and guidance
- Assist in system analysis, design, development, and testing activities
- Assist in the preparation of, and maintenance of training material
- Play a part in ongoing support, particularly in the use of the insurance and sales platforms
- Participate in business meetings and answer system related questions, provide feedback on program functions and effectiveness
- Analyze and resolve configuration issues in a timely manner
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES
- The ideal candidate will have a customer-focused approach and should possess a high level of analytical and problem-solving skills. The ability to balance multiple work-streams, with changing priorities in a highly collaborative environment is desired.

- Strong critical thinking skills
- Prior programing/scripting knowledge is a plus, but not required
- Experience with SalesForce, Insurance administration systems or sales platforms a strong plus, but not required

- Strong communications acumen with an ability to build rapport across many functions within Merit and with key third parties.
- Solid written/verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Abilities
- Strong organizational, detail orientation and relationship management skills are a must for this position
- Able to work independently and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
- Not afraid to get their hands dirty in an entrepreneurial environment when an "all-hands-on-deck" mentality is needed
- Willingness and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- A desire to learn new concepts, seek challenges, possess an inquisitive mindset, and excel in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Able to approach problems in a structured manner and not get overwhelmed
- Someone who likes to build and innovate
- Strong arithmetic skills, as well as strong research, analysis, and creative problem solving to business issues.
Industry focused / Technical skills
- Basic knowledge (or desire to learn) of mutual funds, annuities, life insurance, retirement investment products, securities, and third-party distribution
- Ability to leverage sales enablement technology, training and tools with proficiency (or ability to learn) in key technology platforms: Microsoft Office suite: PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint; Tableau, Salesforce Platform
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of related and/or transferrable experience
